Free Mental Health Helpline Service Extended | Bronx Free Press

Man pushing cart - Washington Heights - Paul Lomax

The capacity of the city’s free mental health helpline, NYC Well, will be greatly expanded, thanks to a $10.8 million investment from the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH).

Launched in 2016, NYC Well provides New Yorkers with immediate connection to counseling, crisis intervention, peer support, and referrals to treatment via phone calls, text or online chat.

The OMH funding, announced by Mayor Eric Adams and city health officials on July 18, will provide more staff for the helpline.

This enhanced capacity will allow NYC Well counselors and peer support specialists to answer up to 500,000 calls, texts, and chats between July 2022 and June 2023 — a nearly 20 percent increase in capacity from the previous year.

Dyckman Beer Now Available At Yankee Stadium | Bronx Free Press

By Gregg McQueen

A local craft beer company has been called up to the big leagues.

Inwood-inspired Dyckman Beer Co., a Latino-owned craft brew maker, can now be purchased at Yankee Stadium.

“As a small business from uptown, it’s a huge thrill to be sold alongside all the big brands at Yankee Stadium,” said Dyckman Beer founder Juan J. Camilo. “And for a huge Yankees fan like me, it’s really exciting.”

Dyckman Brew Pilsner, the company’s flagship brew, can currently be found at Yankee Stadium in Section 236 in the left-field bleachers and Section 227 along the third-base line.

Dyckman Beer Company produced special 19-ounce cans for sale at Yankees games.
