This past Thursday, HBO and Team Epiphany put together a romping and fitting farewell soiree for the final season of Boardwalk Empire at the swank Cecil in Harlem. It was quite simply one of the best shindigs I have been to in many moons.

First of all, the resplendent attendees, garbed in 1930’s inspired attire, were treated to copious amounts of period-appropriate and seriously decadent and luxe libations. My favorite was the Capone, a mysteriously strong and enticing concoction of Rye, Grenadine, Angostura Bitters and grapefruit juice.

Then there was the music. The soundtrack for the festivities was provided by none other than DJ D-Nice and let me tell you, D-Nice KILLLED it. No lie, this was one of the best DJ sets I have ever had the good fortune of listening to. Seriously, the set began with Bobby Womack and ended with Bobby Shmurda. D-Nice had the room from the jump and proceeded to take those in attendance on an expansive and meticulously curated musical journey.

Oh, by the way, did I mention there was also a sultry performance by a stunning troop of burlesque dancers? The cherry on top was a sublime set by Margot B. that was an excellent ending to an evening that was as classy, cool and epic as the show that inspired it.

The fifth and final season of Boardwalk Empire premieres tonight, September 7th, at 9 pm est. No One Goes Quietly Indeed!
