That’s right folks; the New York International Latino Film Festival’s always awesome Dominican Night will be held on Thursday, August 18th at the Columbia University Medical Center’s Alumni Auditorium (630 W. 168th St).
Making its New York Premiere will be La Hija Natural, which is a poignant coming of age story that centers on a young woman searching for her biological father after the death of her mother. I am, personally, looking forward to this movie as it represents the refreshingly new approaches and directions that Dominican cinema is embarking upon.
Get this: For $25 you not only get to see the NYC premiere of La Hija Natural but you also get admission to the Heineken sponsored After-Party as well as a one-year subscription to Latina Magazine. You better get on it while there are tickets still left. Last year, plenty of people that didn’t heed my call did not get to see the incredibly riveting Trópico de Sangre. Don’t sleep, get yours!
