The Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance (NoMAA), Community Association of Progressive Dominicans (ACDP), and the Malcolm X & Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial & Educational Center present a day with bestselling author Julia Alvarez as she shares from her bestselling children’s book series The Tia Lola Stories and the her historical novel In the Time of the Butterflies. This will be a very special presentation for children (ages 9 to 12), with a special appearance by Tia Lola herself, at 3 pm and followed by a special reading for adults at 7 pm.
We hope that you will join us for what promises to be an inspirational and entertaining day of great stories and literature. The author will be available for interviews and photo ops before and after the event and books will be available for purchase.
