People’s Theatre Project invites you to be a part of:
Action Theatre
an uptown performance group starring the people of New York City
-Are you interested in addressing immigration issues and ending discrimination?
-Do you want to perform for the community?
-Can you commit to 10 evening rehearsals?
-Then come be part of the Action!-
Action Theatre is an ensemble of English and Spanish speaking
community members ages 16 and up, working together to create an
original play about immigration and discrimination issues. Rehearsals
will consist of games and improvisation that help us observe and
understand our current reality and transform it in a safe and playful
environment. We will then put this reality on stage, with sets,
costumes and music and perform it for the community in an interactive
forum. Let’s rehearse for reality, and get ready to take action
onstage and off!
Rehearsing on Wednesdays from 7:00-8:30pm on the following dates:
9/15, 9/29, 10/13, 10/27, 11/10, 12/1, 12/15, 1/12, 1/26, 2/9
…and culminating in several interactive public performances!
Facilitators: Katy Rubin and Mino Lora
