Uptown Poetry: Tales of a Dyckman Princess – Us

Paul Lomax - Washington Heights

Story has it that you think of me
But you shy away
because of what people think.
As it goes you miss my kiss
And your days are filled with thoughts
Of us
And how it was…

How manic, but calm
How sensual
Tantalizing lust
Enamored by such rush.
You’ll forever have a hold of me
And I of us…
We were quite the pair.
It was you and I.
You and I.
Us.
