After house hunting all day on Saturday and putting the kiddies down for the night, I jumped in the shower and hopped over to the SOA’s first installment of ArtTrek at Bodre’s Cut & Color room a half hour before it ended.

Approximately four weeks ago on a cold/rainy afternoon, we did a down and dirty cover shoot on the streets of Washington Heights for the Manhattan Times newspaper. The subject was pro athlete barber Monster 99. Here are a few of the outtakes from that shoot. Enjoy!

Last night, inspired by the images submitted to New York Times by regular folks across the country who had been hammered by the storm (and fellow FB’er Dax), I went out with my “weather proof” Nikon to a) test its “weather proof-ness” and b) to see how well it would shoot at night in low light conditions with a my 50mm, 1.4.
The camera did not disappoint! The snow, night time and varying types of street lights added an extra creative element to the following images.
