1984 is required viewing in the initial days of the Trump Tyranny. Tomorrow, April 4, you can catch the film for free in our very own United Palace. The United Palace of Cultural Arts is joining the National Screening Day as over 160 movie theatres across the U.S. will screen the film adaptation of George Orwell’s classic novel about a future controlled by a totalitarian government. The date was chosen because it is the day the story’s lead character begins rebelling against his oppressive government by keeping a forbidden diary. So let us, as a community, begin a collective rebellion! Apathy is not an option!
Director Michael Radford recorded a special introduction and interview that will be shown before and after the movie. The event is free but an RSVP is required.
