Uptown Poetry: Tales of a Dyckman Princess – Goodbye My Dear

Street ARt - Washington Heights

What of us my dear?
We are no longer there…
So why do you persist on calling?
What is it that keeps you here?
So long ago
we were something more than friends.
Now not friends even…

Dear,
you still hold me but let’s be clear,
you hold no place here.
Done!

So long ago GONE!
So persist only on your journey
it has no path through mine.
So long in process;
once held us so Divine.
Prepare for what will come your way,
as I once said it to you
and I will repeat again:
Goodbye my dear-
We are no longer…
I cannot stay.
