Uptown funnymen Juan Bago and O face off in their latest video, ‘Vote, Right?’ intended to drum up interest in registering to vote in the upcoming Presidential election.
They’ve been known for making comedic spoof videos, but uptown funnymen Michael Diaz and Oscar Martinez have made sure their latest video packs a powerful message: to vote in the upcoming Presidential election.
Diaz and Martinez, known respectively as Juan Bago & O, have released more than a dozen parody videos, but this time around they wanted to focus on political awareness – with a funny twist, of course.
“We wanted to send a message to go out there and vote, and to make a difference,” said Diaz of Washington Heights.
The Dominican-American duo also hopes their video — officially released on Thursday — will reach the Latino community. The pair has a large Latino following behind their spoof videos including “Dominis in the Heights,” “Vivaporu” and their biggest hit, “Pan Con Queso” (which scored more than a million views on YouTube).
“The Latino vote is key (in this election),” Diaz said. “We hope it sparks something, and makes people aware of how important it is to vote.”
