Global fashion icon and proud Dominican, Oscar de la Renta, has endorsed Adriano Espaillat. This is what De la Renta has to say, “I am proud to endorse Adriano Espaillat for Congress and I call on all Democrats, particularly the Latino and Dominican communities, to join me in rallying behind Adriano’s historic run to change the political landscape of this country,” said Oscar de la Renta. “Our communities are at a crossroads and we need leadership that can help us meet the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Senator Adriano Espaillat’s record clearly indicates that he will bring bold, new ideas to move our communities forward. I am fully committed to add my voice to help elect Adriano to Congress.”
Oscar de La Renta is a universally acclaimed fashion god. Having designed dresses for everyone from Jackie O to Oprah Winfrey. Ever the modern day entrepreneur, de la Renta also has a line of high-fashion, high end headphones. He is also a committed supporter of important causes such as poverty in the third world. De la Renta, an American icon of Dominican descent, serves as a board member of the Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall, and Channel Thirteen/WNET. He has served as the Grand Marshall of the Hispanic Day Parade in New York City and received the Gold Medal of Bellas Artes from the King of Spain.
