Friday, February 10 at Noon
Corner of 175th and Broadway (United Palace Theater)
Latino community leaders will hold a rally on Friday, February 10, at Noon, to call for fair representation in the redistricting process, including a Congressional district that captures communities of common interest in Northern Manhattan, the West Bronx, and Corona and Jackson Heights, Queens.
Leaders will highlight the fact that Congressional representation has not kept up with the sharp increase in New York’s Latino population. Despite sharing businesses, resources, common language, important institutions, Latino communities in the area have been carved up and denied fair representation, as required by law.
