A lot of times when you tell non-local people you live Uptown (Washington Heights/Inwood), they either never heard of it or they give you the “I’m so sorry to hear that” look or the best one, which is the old “isn’t that in the Bronx.” We are the other Manhattan and we are proud of it. The new t-shirt commissioned by the Audubon Partnership for Economic Development and designed by Uptown Collective member, M. Tony Peralta, captures that sentiment exactly.
