Yes sir, Patacon Pisao (413 W. 202nd St. between 9th and 10th Avenues) is a finalist for the 6th Annual 2010 NYC Vendy Awards. This is a big deal; Patacon Pisao is only 1 of 5 finalists, which means it faced a lot of stiff competition to achieve that coveted slot. The 2010 NYC Vendy Awards will be held on September 25th on Governor’s Island from 12PM to 5PM. For those that don’t know, a Patacon, which hails from Venezuela, is like a sandwich but instead of bread, flattened green plantains are used. I had one late last night with my cohorts Leopold and Claudio and boy was it delicious.
