I LOVE a good sandwich and at Beans & Vines that’s exactly what you get. Beans and Vines is one of those new businesses helping in the upgrading of Uptown. The previous business that occupied the space tried but couldn’t quite get it right. Then B & V came in, redesigned the whole space, made it comfortable to sit in, revamped the menu and wine list and focused on serving fresh food. My favorite dish is the portabella mushroom and goat cheese sandwich. I get super excited when I’m on my way there to have it and when I take that fist bite a huge smile forms on my face. A nice little party in my mouth with special invited guest, sun dried tomatoes, lol. As mentioned, they have a great selection of imported wines, I favor the South African Shiraz. The last time I was there I went for it and had their pecan pie desert – a perfect ending to a great lunch. The staff is really considerate and efficient and the owner Alex is very welcoming and helpful with any wine questions you may have. So if you find yourself craving a great sandwich or just want to hangout in a low key spot and have a few glasses of wine, Beans & Vines is your place. Let’s support these new local spots that are sprouting up Uptown that are taking Washington Heights and Inwood to the next level.
