Uptown-based Art entity SOUND OF ART is jump starting its ART TREK: UPTOWN Series with a celebration of the work of world renown Queens based, visual master, TOOFLY, this Saturday, 06.12.10 at Bodre’s Cut and Color Room. This Toofly affair will be the first in the series for ART TREK: UPTOWN: a visually riveting collection of rotating art exhibits strategically placed at select retail businesses throughout the designated areas of Inwood and Washington Heights (aka Uptown). The SOA ART TREK: UPTOWN will welcome art lovers to partake in an exploratory mission to discover and embrace these hidden visual gems; exhibits composed of works by the diverse roster of emerging visual artists that make up the Sound Of Art. The SOA ART TREK: UPTOWN’s is designed to attract gatherings of young, stylish and urbane trendsetters.
TOOFLY is an artist, designer and activist. Her most recent projects include her independent artist collection made up of mini graffiti bags, limited edition art prints, and t-shirts. In addition she is working on her new body of work inspired by the sensual, physical, and emotional attributes of idolized females.
When asked what is her goal as an artist, her answer was simple… “To make great works of art that resonate with people emotionally”. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
