The Being Latino Event @ Heineken Headquarters – The Recap

Uptown was definitely in effect at the Being Latino event held at the Heineken Headquarters in midtown recently. First of all, I have to say that Heineken Headquarters is straight up sick, smack dab in the middle of their corporate office is a beautiful full service bar with ice cold Heineken on tap. I was in beer heaven. Secondly, I have to shout out Lance Rios and the entire Being Latino crew for putting together one classy event. Not only did I get to chop it up with a diverse crowd of progressive folks but I also got to hang out with one of my literary heroes, Junot Diaz. Not to mention, that I met for the first time, Uptown native, the über talented actor, Elvis Nolasco. This was my first Being Latino event but it will NOT be my last. Heineken, great conversation, great people – what more could anyone ask for? Remember the motto, “Spread love it’s the Uptown way.”
